Automatic calibration by pressing F1.
Fully automated measurement sequence initiated by pressing F2, executed as follows:
1. Measurement of incident light (tau 1) with no specimen, light trap open, and the reflectance standard in place.
2. Measurement of total light transmitted through the specimen (tau _2) with the specimen in place, light trap open, and the reflectance standard in place.
3. Measurement of light scattered by the instrument (tau _3) with no specimen, light trap engaged, and no reflectance standard.
4. Measurement of light scattered by both the instrument and specimen (tau _4) with the specimen in place, light trap engaged, and no reflectance standard.
5. Repeat step (2) four times, automatically rotating the specimen by 90° between each reading.
6. Repeat steps (4) and (5) to obtain four readings in the exact same angular positions.
7. Calculation of:
The average values of The average values of τ2 and τ4 (τ2 and τ4).
Total transmittance in accordance with the equation required by ISO 12311.
